Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom

This is most definitely a tepid game at best. After playing through completely both norath games on the ps2, I can quite confidently say that those games are STILL better than this, even in last gen graphics. This is a hack and slash, and that’s it. I hesitate to call this an RPG, although it does have those elements, the offerings are just so incredibly flat that it’s almost not worth it at all.

I started this game on easy, and was bored stiff for several days of playing (well only 3-4 hours, I don’t play like some crazy folks 10-12hrs or more a day), till finally, a few days ago, I got to this arch mage (in the steam tunnels level if you ever play the game), and he is pretty much impossible. Now, why would they make the game so silly easy and then jack up the difficulty like that? Lame! Also, 99% of the monsters in this game are so incredibly easy to play, and then you get these random monsters that are incredibly hard. This is really retarded to skew the game like this; it is obvious laziness on the part of the developers. This is also basically a port from the PSP version, which, in my opinion, is utterly retarded. The ps3 is having enough trouble competing with the xbox360 and the Wii, and considering this is an offering directly from the makers of the PS3 (Sony Online Entertainment), why make mistakes?

If you enjoy RPG’s, skip this one, or just rent it and hack away for a few days. (Yawn)

I’m going to be reviewing lair, folklore, and assassin’s creed for ps3 as well in the next few months, so stay tuned!
