Mass Effect

*** Update ***
Ok take two. I’m going to leave my original review in here because it really is still largely truthful, but after playing this game for close to 10 hours, I’m totally hooked. I’m also leaving the original review in here because you may totally agree with that review and not this one! I’m also not willing to give it any more than an 8 for the extreme frustration and slowness in getting into the game, and various annoying elements mentioned below that really never go away. Assassin’s Creed Review

Wow, what a November. I thought I’d be overwhelmed with games but somehow I’ve been keeping up! Just picked up this game yesterday for ps3 and I am blown away. The textures are stunning, the ability to shift focus on interactive cut scenes is sweet, and, oh yeah, the game play is highly refined and adds a new, ultra-realistic approach to RPG/Action games. There is also a very interesting spin on how you are actually in this medieval context, which I will leave out. There will be no spoilers in this review! Read more »

Resistance: Fall of Man Review

This is the first shooter I’ve played on the ps3 and it was quite a bit of fun to play. I haven’t yet played the multiplayer (largely due to difficulty in getting the wireless working), but have completed the game on regular difficulty in about 15 hours. Not quite as fun to play as Timeshift, but certainly worth a play through (rental) by any fan of shooters. the story was at least interesting enough, your basic sci-fi spin on shooters, and reeked a bit of gears of war (underground installations?), but was still fairly well done. the whole hint that your character may have been infected with this chimera virus was a little annoying, mostly because it doesn’t enhance your abilities at all (el - lameO!). You’ve basically got the standard array of weapons, health packs, etc, nothing new in that dept. Also when you play on the ps3 after playing on the 360 you really start to miss the achievement points. There’s really something special about those :) Read more »

Trillian Astra Alpha

When it comes to IM clients it becomes difficult to select one and stick with it because you would like to be on the same social network as all of your connections. This is very challenging because the IM clients these days are often determined by the business in which employs them. Read more »
