And even those tended to drag on, telling their story about government corruption while one man who does everything better than everybody else fights his way to a resolution. Will Ferrell movies have pretty much always been hit (Anchorman) or miss (Semi-Pro). Since striking gold with Anchorman, he and Adam McKay have tried to instill that little touch of absurdist humor into all of their movies. Most of the time, they fail. We’ve seen all sorts of super hero movies. We’ve seen big green dudes in stretch pants, we’ve seen sarcastic jerks flying around in metal suits, we’ve seen the tight-fitting leather uniforms, and we’ve even seen an emo kid swing around New York.
