This was a very interesting panel to experience as Judd Apatow & Kevin Smith made a perfect coupling of dick & homosexual jokes while Zack Snyder seemed like a deer caught in headlights and Frank Miller appeared to wonder where he went wrong to end up on this panel.

Each panelist was introduced with applause from the audience as they took their seats, with Smith getting a standing ovation from many of the fans. Marc Bernardin of Entertainments Weekly began the panel by asking the panel some questions.

Rather than give you a full transcript like other sites we prefer to be brief (or lazy depending on view point) and simply give you the highlights of the panel.

When asked why they started making this type of material Judd replied “I was 16 years old, 17 years old, I had sex for the first time, and I said, ‘Was it good for you?’ and she said, ‘I guess it’ll get better.’ Then I knew.”

Kevin Smith was very excited about the Watchmen movie. “Watchmen movie is so f**ing important!” He said. “I see that movie, I’m ready to f**king die! My life has been fulfilled.”

When asked about fanboy moments Zach Snyder answered from his directing history, “I was shooting a TV commercial with Harrison Ford.” He said, “I told him, ‘I have a Han Solo carbon freeze in my house’ and he was like, ‘Yeah, you probably shouldn’t have told me that.’

In response to the very same fanboy question, Frank Miller responded, “I was on the set of Sin City and we were doing the first scene where Bruce Willis finds out that the girl he saved had become an exotic dancer. I had picked the music, it was Emmy Lou Harris’s Wrecking Ball. She was doing this exotic, beautiful dance with a lasso. I found myself bursting into tears because I realized a dream had just come true.”

Check out the images of the panel below.

Comic-Con 2008 is one of those events where you must pray to get into various panels. We had high hopes of making it into 3-4 panels including Street Fighter IV, Afro Samurai and some films by Lionsgate however we only made it to the all female Scream 2008 lead by Comic-Con favorite Kevin Smith.

The 2008 Scream panel was pure laughs. The panelist included Gale An Hurd (Terminator, Terminator 2), Lucy Lawless (Xena, Battlestar Galactica), Jaime King (Sin City, The Spirit) and Pia Guerra (Y: The Last Man) and of course Kevin Smith.

After the introductions and of course Kevin Smith asking the questions (from cards no less) he had to scratch his itch and ask the panel who gets the most lesbian sex. Lucy Lawless played into his hand and said she gets as much as she wants. Obviously Kevin not expecting any answer was able to deliver a nice laugh to the crowd with this opening and set the tone for the rest of the questions to follow.

Below are the highlights:

We found that Jaime King was named after the Bionic Woman when asked about childhood heroes.

Lucy Lawless got to tell her NBC Tonight Show’s horse and broken pelvis story in which the tonight show now calls their last take the Lawless. Kevin Smith promptly followed with questions of suing the crap out of NBC. She replied she was too stupid at the time and was afraid they would never call her back. Kevin replied you could have owned the show with something like that.

Gale Ann Hurd discussed about getting the Terminator into theatres and the process of selling her script as a masculine lead role whom which everyone thought was a man at first. Little did investors realize it was a woman lead until the movie was nearly complete. This is the method that had helped her make great movies time over time including with films like Aliens.

Pia Guerra didn’t really have much to say throughout this panel however we did learn her first dog was named Jamie Summers.

At the end several lucky individuals one tickets to Scream 2008 and one girl in pink (also the person with the best question for the panel) won an on stage appearance at Scream 2008. Winners were decided by a sticker on the back of buttons handed out at the beginning of the panel.

Check out some picks of the panel below.

Just got word today that our credentials have checked out and that we are officially going to be covering Comic-Con 2008. We will be sure to snap hundreds of photos containing geeks in costume, scandalously clad dressed woman (probably all under aged) and comic fanatics alike. Since there is just so much we can cover, we would really enjoy some feedback on anything you might have heard about in this years Comic-Con and we will certainly attempt to get you the skinny on it.

Keep in mind this years Comic-Con will be from July 23rd through July 27th and online registration has already begun. Also new to this years registration process is there will no longer be on-site registration due to the overwhelming success of recent years. Be sure to register early to ensure your entry into the largest comic convention on the planet. Hope to see you there!

If you would like to meet up there or perhaps become a writer for us please use our contact form am I will personally contact you back. We are always willing to spread the love and take on more writers enthused about entertainment and technology. Another note, next month we intend to revamp the site to be more in tune with our readers taste and perhaps a little less visually dry.
